Dr. Karsten Brensing hat in Kiel Meeresbiologie studiert. Später hat er in Florida und Israel die Interaktion zwischen Delfinen und Menschen erforscht und 2004 an der Freien Universität in Berlin seine Doktorarbeit abgeschlossen. Im Anschluss daran war er zehn Jahre lang Wissenschaftlicher Leiter des Deutschlandbüros der internationalen Wal- und Delfinschutzorganisation WDC. Seither arbeitet er selbstständig als Berater und Autor. Er hat bisher drei erfolgreiche Bücher über das Denken und Fühlen von Tieren geschrieben und als Berater für das Umweltministerium, die Europäische Kommission und Umweltschutzorganisationen gearbeitet. Er ist Mitgründer der wissenschaftlich arbeitenden Tierschutzinitiative „Individual Rights Initiative“ (IRI.world). Karsten Brensing ist stolzer Vater von zwei Jungen, die dieses Jahr in die Schule kommen. Seine Frau Katrin ist Wissenschaftsjournalistin und ebenfalls Buchautorin. Nikolai Renger was born in Karlsruhe and studied Visual Communication at the HFG in Pforzheim. He works as a freelance illustrator for various publishers and agencies and has been part of Atelier Remise in Karlsruhe since 2013. He has always found animals hilarious!
