Eight year old Tom happens to come across a slimy ghost, sitting in the basement of their house. But nobody wants to believe him! Especially not his older sister Lola. Fortunately, Grandma knows what to do: Her friend Hedwig Cumminjuice is a ghosthunter! Together, Tom and Hedwig find out that Hugo, the ghost in the basement, is not very dangerous at all. He is only very sad because he has been driven from his home, by a particularly terrible and frightening ghost. Tom and Hedwig decide to help Hugo...
