Peter Pfannroth earns his money as a shoe blacker until he gets a new job as a bellboy at the Hotel Atlantic. One day he receives the order to pick up a suitcase from America for Mr Overseas at the central station. A big mistake happens: the man at the central station confuses the suitcase with another one because he holds the baggage voucher the wrong way up. So Peter gets the suitcase with the number 999 which contains the capture of a bank robbery! Together with his friend Peter decides to investigate and find the thief. But this turns out to be a very dangerous undertaking!
