Mechthild Gläser
Mechthild Gläser was born in Essen, in the Summer of 1986, and has a degree in Politics, History and Econmics. Today, she still lives and works in the Ruhr area of Germany, where she occasionally dances ballet incredibly badly, but only when nobody is looking. She loves to think up abstruse stories, and has started writing at an early age. She finds inspiration everywhere, at best when drinking a cup of peppermint tea. Mechthild Gläser has been awarded the Seraph prize for fantasy.

She is looking for a new home ...
... and finds secrets. It is almost night when Jane arrives at Thornfield. It's drizzling, but the clouds break and the moon illuminates the old castle for a moment. So, this is her new home: Jane is to look after Audrey, the Branwells' young daughter, as an au pair. Unfortunately, Audrey's older brother Liam seems to have some kind of problem. And where are their parents? When water lilies suddenly bloom in the ballroom, Jane wonders: are there more secrets at Branwell Hall?
Enchanting retelling of the classic novel
A modern Jane Eyre meets the Fae, a secret folk. Charlotte Bronte's classic, fantastically reinterpreted as a captivating fantasy romance. As in her previous books Emma and the Forgotten Book and The Book Jumpers, Mechthild Gläser takes us into a world of fantasy with classical influence.
