The gentle and quiet meerkat Wolke is born the youngest member of the Sand Dancers clan. Under the guidance of the gruff clan member Dreifuß, Wolke learns not only the best tricks and how to deal with scorpions, beetles, and biting ants, but also that you don’t always need to be strong and loud. In the savannah, alertness and cleverness matter too! When the leadership of the Sand Dancers shifts, Wolke is cast out of the colony, leaving her without anyone to protect her. Determined to remember all of Dreifuß’s lessons, she carries on. Along the way, she meets the cheeky meerkat Gecko and his brother Sandnase. The three form a team and dream of finding a territory of their own. But surviving among rival clans and dangerous predators, amidst droughts and storms, is no easy task...
