Courageous children can change the world!
An exciting and multi-layered detective series for children aged 9 and up, with the unusual setting of Brazil and the strong themes of school, detectives, and criminal cases. In this series, the different realities of life for German and Brazilian children become apparent.
What happens in Volume 1:
Ten-year-old street boy Pablo lives alone in the ruins of the city of Manaus and dreams of becoming an adventurer – after all, something exciting is waiting for him in the vast expanses of the jungle, isn’t it? One day a stray dog shows up and brings Pablo the cry for help from his friend Miguel, who has been untraceable for a few days. Pablo will do everything to find his friend. The adventurous Ximena and a stray dog are also part of the team. Pablo and Ximena find out that not only Miguel, but also a group of students is missing.
It soon becomes clear that not only their friends, but also the jungle is in danger – a clear case for the fearless Amazon Detectives. Pablo and Ximena learn that a dam and a power station are to be built in the jungle. To complete these plants, a huge area has to be cleared and flooded. One thing is certain: someone with a lot of money and power must be behind this scheme. Miguel and the students apparently wanted to demonstrate against the dam and thus save the jungle and the future - and never showed up again.
Now it's up to brave Pablo and brave Ximena to get on a boat and head out into the dense jungle - always with Dog by their side. But the Amazon is a dangerous and untamed area. Luckily, the kids bump into Davi, a clever boy, and his squirrel monkey, who join them. Living in the Amazon with his indigenous tribe, Davi not only knows the area like the back of his hand, but is also determined to save the Amazon and outwit the power-hungry adults. One thing is for sure, the friends need to show great courage to save a small but infinitely important part of the Green Wonderland and all its exotic inhabitants.
