Werner Färber

Werner Färber was born in Wassertrüdingen and studied English as well as sports in Freiburg and Hamburg. After graduating, he taught at a school in Scotland. Since 1985, he has been working as a freelance translator and has been writing children's books.

Lydia Hauenschild

Lydia Hauenschild was born on a farm in 1957 in Bavaria. Life on her parent's farm influenced her childhood immensely. She studied agriculture and turned to writing only when she discovered that there were no guide books on parenting twins after her children were born. The quick success motivated her and she has written a number of children's books since then.

Christiane Wittenburg

Christiane Wittenburg, born in 1974 amidst the mountains, now resides in Erding with her husband, two children, a small cat, and two rabbits. She works as a teacher at a Montessori school and has been a children's and young adult book author for many years. To date, she has published numerous titles in areas such as children's activities, learning and practice materials for elementary and preschool, picture books, board books, non-fiction, early readers, and horse books.

Gertrud Schrör

Gertrud Schrör studierte an der Fachhochschule Münster Grafik/Design mit dem Schwerpunkt Illustration. Am meisten Spaß macht es ihr, Bücher für jüngere Leser zu illustrieren. Durch die Arbeit an diesem Buch wurde sie selbst zum Fußballfan.

Martina Theisen

Martina Theisen wurde Heiligabend 1968 in Fulda geboren. Sie studierte Kommunikationsdesign in Mainz mit den Schwerpunkten Fotografie und Illustration. Nach einigen Jahren in der Fernsehgrafik des SWR, gewann sie Ende 2000 einen Illustrationswettbewerb, der sie nach Berlin verschlug. Neben Schulbüchern hat sie seither zahlreiche Kinderbücher illustriert und lebt nun wieder im Rheinhessischen.

Dorothea Ackroyd

Dorothea Ackroyd was born in 1960 in Herford and studied Visual Communication and Graphic Arts. She has been working as a freelance illustrator for many years, concentrating more and more on children's and teenagers' books publishing houses since the birth of her daughter.

Petra Theissen

Petra Theissen studierte nach dem Abitur Grafikdesign an der Fachhochschule in Münster. Seit Abschluss ihres Studiums ist sie als freie Werbe- und Kinderbuchillustratorin tätig und mag mit niemand tauschen: Sie kann sich kaum einen schöneren Beruf vorstellen.
