Margit Ruile wurde 1967 in Augsburg geboren. Sie studierte an der Münchner Filmhochschule, wo sie nach ihrem Abschluss mehr als zehn Jahre in der Lehre tätig war, drehte Dokumentationen und arbeitete als Drehbuchlektorin. Auch das Geschichtenerzählen lernte sie zuerst beim Film. Später fand sie dann heraus, dass Schreiben sich anfühlt, wie im Schneideraum zu sitzen - mit dem riesengroßen Vorteil, dass man die fehlenden Szenen nicht nachdrehen muss, sondern einfach erfinden kann. Margit Ruile lebt mit ihrem Mann und ihren zwei Töchtern in München.

Day after day, Zafer sits at his computer editing images for a TV soap opera. He never leaves the house, and has all his meals delivered. One day Zafer is sent an anonymous commission: his task is to airbrush a man out of a piece of surveillance footage.

While out for the first time in weeks, looking for a takeaway place he meets a girl called Emily, a street musician. Zafer is fascinated by her. Emily works as a hacker for the underground organisation Dark Noise, which has its headquarters in a disused underground train tunnel. Dark Noise’s mission is to fight surveillance. Zafer soon realises he is working for a murderer, and covering for a dangerous organisation. This organisation has developed a code with which they are able to falsify photographic images. They are also capable of sending these images viral. And that gives them the power to deceive, blackmail and manipulate the entire world...
