Munich, 1898: Shortly before the second Machines and Engines Exhibition, Rudolf Diesel is preparing to present his new invention, the diesel engine, to the public. But then things start to go wrong: an accident occurs during transportation, and there's a massive explosion at the exhibition pavilion. Diesel's son Rudolf and his friends believe that these are more than just coincidences. They find out that one of Diesel's closest colleagues is trying to sabotage the exhibition and stop the diesel engine from becoming introduced to the world.
