Mirjam Pressler was born in 1940. She studied at the Academy of Creative Arts in Frankfurt. She has lived and worked in Israel. Mirjam Pressler is a renowned writer of books for children and adolescents. Moreover, she works as a translator from several languages, Dutch and Hebraic among them. In 2001, Mirjam Pressler received the award for Children's and Adolescents' Literature by the German Academy.
